Death Plateau

Death Plateau

The 2006 world here comes straight off the original 377 cache instead of a modern remake, and all 109 quests on Death Plateau can be played through start to finish. All 23 skills and 51 areas fill out the rest, with three experience rates to pick between. Nothing is for sale. It is still in testing, so accounts reset at launch.

TL;DR

A 2006 server built from the original 377 cache rather than a modern remake. 109 quests and every one can be finished, all 23 skills, 51 areas, three experience rates, and nothing for sale. Still in testing: accounts reset at launch.

STILL IN TESTING, ALL ACCOUNTS WILL BE RESET UPON LAUNCH

Death Plateau is a 2006 RuneScape private server built on the original 377 cache — the world, the models and the interfaces are the ones from 2006, not a modern reconstruction of them.

WHAT IS IN THE GAME

109 quests, 18 free and 91 members, and every one of them can be finished start to finish. All 23 skills, including Hunter and Construction. 51 areas and 17 minigames built one at a time.

Bosses: God Wars Dungeon with all four generals, Barrows with its tunnels and puzzle doors, the Kalphite Queen, the Dagannoth Kings on Waterbirth, Zulrah, the Kraken, and TzTok-Jad in the Fight Caves.

Places: Lunar Isle with the lunar spellbook, Keldagrim and its mine carts, Mos Le'Harmless and Temple Trekking, Shilo Village, Canifis and the swamp, Rellekka and Trollweiss, and the Wilderness on the 2006 combat formulas.

Minigames: Castle Wars, Pest Control, the Warriors' Guild, Temple Trekking, Pyramid Plunder, the Blast Furnace, the Duel Arena, the Fishing Trawler, the Ranging Guild, Tai Bwo Wannai cleanup and the treasure trails.

Agility: nine rooftop courses from Draynor to Ardougne, with marks of grace and Grace's shop, plus the Agility Pyramid and the Ape Atoll course. Obstacles can be failed, and failing drops you into the street.

Quality of life: a collection log, bank tabs and placeholders, clan chat, a trading post, and a quest journal that tracks every step.

THREE EXPERIENCE RATES

Picked once on Tutorial Island and never again: realism at 1x, 5x, or 10x. The slower ones pay better drops — realism gets a 25% boost on the drop tables, 5x gets 7%, 10x gets none. It is a choice about how you want to play, not a button that says give me more.

2006 FIRST, AND EVERYTHING AFTER IT HAS TO EARN A PLACE

Where 2006 and Old School disagree about something that already existed in 2006, 2006 wins — a quest plays the way it played, not the way it was reworked a decade later. Content that came after 2006 is let in only where it gives you somewhere to go without flattening the game you came back for.

In: the God Wars Dungeon with bandos and armadyl armour, Zulrah and the Kraken with their tridents and the toxic blowpipe, the abyssal tentacle, the dragon warhammer.

Out: the twisted bow, the scythe of Vitur, dragon claws, the occult necklace, torture and anguish, primordial, pegasian and eternal boots, the avernic defender, ferocious gloves. All of them would end 2006's progression the week they arrived.

The website lists both sides, read out of the game's own object list rather than claimed.

FREE, AND THERE IS NO SHOP

Nothing in the game is for sale, so nobody is ahead of you for paying. No donation ranks, no bought gear, no experience you can buy.

PLAY

Play in your browser or download the launcher at deathplateau.com. A name and a password is all an account takes — no email, nothing to pay, and it works the moment you make it.

The site carries the hiscores, the full quest list and every drop table in the game — 1,212 monsters with the exact rarity the server rolls.
